The Postpartum Planning Session

This appointment is designed to help you plan for postpartum support during pregnancy: The postpartum period can be a challenging time, with many physical and emotional changes. Planning ahead can help you identify the types of support you might need, what difficult conversations to have, such as who can help with baby care, household tasks, or self-care and when family is allowed to visit. This can help you feel more supported and less overwhelmed during the postpartum period.

The Private Birth Education Class

Prenatal education classes are classes that provide expectant couples with information about pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting. These classes are designed to help couples prepare for the physical and emotional changes that come with having a baby. They can also provide couples with the opportunity to ask questions and get support from healthcare professionals and other expectant couples.

Prenatal education classes typically cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Changes to expect during pregnancy

  • Nutrition and exercise during pregnancy

  • Labour and delivery

  • Pain management during labour

  • Breastfeeding and infant care

  • Postpartum care and recovery

Taking a prenatal education class can be beneficial for couples in many ways. It can help them feel more prepared and confident about the birth of their baby, and can also provide them with valuable information and resources to help them make informed decisions about their pregnancy and childbirth. In addition, attending a prenatal education class can be a great way for couples to connect with their doula and build a support system.

Body Ready Sessions

Having your body balanced and ready can really impact the outcome of a birth. If a vaginal delivery is your goal, having your body ready before labour starts will help labour begin when appropriate, help labour progress at a good pace, reduce labour discomforts and ease baby’s transition into the world. These sessions will also have your body in a great position to heal faster postpartum.

After a full body assessment, a series of exercises and releases will be prescribed to ensure that the hips, uterus, pelvic floor and all the surrounding tissues are prepared for what labour has in store.
